I am no longer publishing a printed newsletter. All Newsletter back issues are available and may be printed as PDF files below for free.

Our guest at this year’s reunion is Thomas Lee Jessee, a descendant of John Jr. and Archer who portrays Robert E. Lee in Civil War reenactments. A native Virginian, he was drawn to military history while living in Hamilton, Va., the heart of Mosby’s Rangers country. After moving to Florida, he joined a reenactment unit in 1969, starting out as a Private before working his way up to General. He attends reenactments across the U.S., commanding troops at many national events. Thomas has attended every Olustee Reenactment in Florida since 1977. Early on, he was given command of Confederate troops. By the early 1980s, he became Commanding General of the Confederate Forces, a position he still holds. Last year, Thomas was approved by the National Park Service to portray Gen. Lee at the 150th anniversary of the Appomattox reenactment. Thomas and his wife, Gail Rebecca, have been married for 31 years. They live in Lakeland, Fla.
